Jack Dempsey, legendary champion of the early 20th century

In my younger years, I managed to work as a miner, a cowboy, a janitor and many others, but still I wandered most of the time, because I did not like these professions.

The only thing I could do well was fight. So I fought wherever I could. In school halls, next to saloons, in store basements, anywhere they paid me.

Once I walked 30 miles across the desert to Goldfield, Nevada to fight for $20. After all, it was a fortune for me back then.

At that time, I was so broke and hopeless that I was ready to get hit in the jaw with a sledgehammer if they promised to pay me 10 dollars for it.

I got beaten up a lot, but giving up was not for me and I held out till the end.

Very often, people did not give me a single chance to win, but I always believed in myself and knew that as long as you breathe, there is always a chance!
