Hearn Clarifies: Zhilei vs. Wilder Fight Still Under Negotiation

Matchroom's head promoter, Eddie Hearn, addressed rumors about the heavyweight bout (over 90.7 kg) between Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs) and Zhang Zhilei (26-2-1, 21 KOs). "Many heavyweight fights are under discussion. It's a fantastic fight. Obviously, there's the 5 vs 5, there's Beterbiev vs Bivol, there are many big fights.

So, the fight isn't signed yet, but I'm confident that on June 1st in Saudi Arabia, there will be many huge fights," Hearn mentioned.

On March 24th, the weight classes for the 5 vs 5 tournament between Matchroom and Queensberry were confirmed, scheduled for the undercard of the undisputed light heavyweight world title fight (up to 79.37 kg) between WBO, WBC, and IBF titleholder Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) and WBA and IBO champion Dmitry Bivol (22-0, 11 KOs).

Previously, it was reported that the Beterbiev vs. Bivol undercard might feature two top fights: Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) against Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs) and Deontay Wilder against Zhang Zhilei.
