Mexican fighter William Zepeda (31-0, 27 KOs) has expressed his desire to fight the Ukrainian IBF lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs).
"We know that styles make fights. We know I have an aggressive style. Lomachenko is an idol, and it's my dream to step into the ring and fight him because I want to become an idol myself. These are the fights I want.
I’ve fought strong opponents, and I feel that I’m at the top of the division. We will seek the opportunity to become a world champion," said Zepeda.
Recently, the founder and head of the promotional company Top Rank, Bob Arum, announced that Lomachenko will arrive in the USA to negotiate a fight with WBA champion Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs).
On the night of July 7th, William Zepeda made quick work of Giovanni Cabrera, knocking out the American in the 3rd round. In May, Vasyl Lomachenko defeated Australian George Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) by technical knockout in the 11th round to capture the IBF title.
