What's Next?

Zepeda conquered a tough opponent in top form. Up until now, Cabrera's only loss was to a similarly aggressive opponent, Isaac Cruz, who won by decision.

Now, William Zepeda is in line for a shot at any champion. Currently, he is the number one contender in all major boxing organizations and is the mandatory challenger for the IBF lightweight title, which is held by Vasyl Lomachenko.

Given that Lomachenko is negotiating a unification bout with Gervonta Davis, Zepeda might face Denys Berinchyk or Shakur Stevenson, the WBO and WBC champions respectively. Regardless, Zepeda has earned his title shot.
