"No Concerns": Suleiman on the Creation of a New Boxing Promotion

WBC President Mauricio Suleiman has responded to the agreement between Turki Alalshikh and TKO Group Holdings, which will see UFC President Dana White lead a new boxing promotion.

Amid debates over boxing’s future, Suleiman expressed full support for the project, stating that any initiative that contributes to the sport’s growth is a positive development. He also dismissed speculation about a potential conflict between WBC and the new organization, emphasizing that such investments could make boxing even stronger.

"I have absolutely no concerns or negative feelings about TKO Boxing. I believe any initiative in boxing is a great thing… I know people have already started coming up with conspiracy theories, but that’s simply not the case.

I think WBC should make its position clear: TKO Boxing is a great opportunity. We have always supported well-organized ventures, companies, and tournaments.

I truly believe that a multi-billion-dollar entity like TKO, UFC, and WWE, along with what His Excellency (Alalshikh) has achieved in less than two years, should be seen as a major accomplishment for the sport," Suleiman told ESPN.

Earlier, Matchroom Boxing CEO Eddie Hearn also commented on whether he views TKO Boxing as a threat to the current boxing landscape.
