Shakur to Attend Ennis' First Matchroom Fight

Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn announced that WBC lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) will attend the fight between Jaron Ennis (31-0, 28 KOs) and David Avanesyan (30-4-1, 18 KOs) on July 13 in Philadelphia, USA. Stevenson is interested in signing a contract with Matchroom.

"Right now, Shakur Stevenson is one of the most talked-about boxers in the world... I know I can make him a star, it's easy for me. I have the dates, I have the platform, I have the megaphone – let's do it," Hearn said.

It's worth noting that Shakur declined a new offer from Top Rank, and his previous contract ended on July 7, making the American a free agent. He is currently choosing between Mayweather Promotions and Matchroom Boxing.

The fight between Jaron Ennis and David Avanesyan will be for the IBF welterweight title (up to 66.7 kg). You can check out the most interesting bouts on the card here.
