Former UFC fighter Mike Perry received an offer to fight former world boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Perry was offered to meet Chavez in the undercard of the Tyson-Paul event in the USA, scheduled for July 20th. However, Perry declined due to insufficient pay.
"The purse wasn't incredible, especially considering the opponent. I would have been interested in appearing on a Mike Tyson card. But because of the money and having another option, I could only choose one of them. This fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. would have been cool, but it won't happen," Perry said on MMA Hour.
Perry is one of the main stars of the Bare Knuckle fighting league, where he remains undefeated. Chavez Jr. last fought in December 2021, winning by decision against David Zegarra.
