Krassyuk: «Usyk is a Diamond and National Hero of Ukraine»

The promoter of WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and CBDO Ready To Fight, Alexander Krassyuk, spoke about the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and how Oleksandr took up arms.

«He’s Ukrainian, we’re all Ukrainians. At the time when the invasion began, we all slept with machine guns. We didn’t know what would happen in the morning. Maybe we’d have to face the enemy at our doors, the doors of our homes. That’s what we all did, and Usyk was no exception. On that very day, he took up arms and joined the armed forces in his region.

Usyk is a diamond of Ukraine, he is a national hero of Ukraine, he’s a so-called idol, a figure that makes new generations follow in his footsteps. An icon. Not because he’s a good fighter, not because he’s a charismatic personality, but because of his life principles. He promotes certain narratives, very correct narratives, inspiring people, leading to success, leading to a good life,» said Krassyuk.

On May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Oleksandr Usyk will face WBC titleholder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) for the undisputed world heavyweight championship.
