Klimas: "Usyk is a National Hero"

Egis Klimas, manager of WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), emphasized the importance of the Ukrainian's potential victory in the fight against Tyson Fury.

- It was his dream from the start, when he entered professional boxing, to become the undisputed champion. He became undisputed in cruiserweight and then dreamed of becoming undisputed in heavyweight. This means a lot to him.

- If we're talking about what this means for Usyk, what does it mean for Ukraine? We only see what the media shows, but we don't know what's really happening there. We know Usyk takes his boxing career so seriously that he had to put everything aside, including time with his family. So when Ukrainians see him as champion, what does that mean for Ukraine?

- Right now, it means a lot for Ukraine, and he is definitely a national hero. Today in Ukraine, if you say 'Usyk,' everyone knows his name. That means a lot, Klimas said.

The Usyk-Fury fight will take place on May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
