Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, the undisputed world super middleweight champion, has announced his comeback to the ring in May of this year.
"I'm coming back to fight on home soil. I will defend all my titles in May. More information will be coming soon," Canelo said.
On the night of September 18th of last year, Alvarez successfully defended his titles by defeating Gennady Golovkin with a unanimous decision. All judges scored the bout in favor of Canelo, with scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113.
After undergoing surgery on his left wrist in early November of last year, Alvarez is now considering WBO mandatory contender John Ryder as a potential opponent.
Additionally, Alvarez is seeking an interim fight in May, with his ultimate goal being a rematch against Dmitry Bivol, the WBA light heavyweight title holder.
