Deontay Wilder responds to question about fighting Anthony Joshua

Former WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) shared his thoughts on a potential fight with British contender Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).

People still asking me about Joshua? Damn. I’m here to win. Heavyweight is a tight division. We could all fight each other six or seven times.

I’m ready to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. I’m a fighter. I have a real fighter’s mindset. I’ve got the mentality of a king. That’s why I don’t duck fights. As long as we’re both in the heavyweight division, I’m open to facing anyone, no matter the situation. If it needs to happen — let’s make it happen,” said Wilder.

Wilder is scheduled to face Tyrell Herndon on June 27. The American has lost four of his last five bouts.

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, last fought in September, when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois. In May, Joshua underwent elbow surgery and is planning a return to the ring in the fall.
