WBO President Gustavo Olivieri has responded to Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk’s decision to vacate his WBO Heavyweight world title.
“The WBO expresses its deep respect, admiration, and gratitude to Oleksandr Usyk — the undefeated undisputed world champion in two weight divisions under the WBO, a boxer who has earned and embodies every right, privilege and honor associated with the status of WBO Super Champion. His career is one of the most remarkable and historic of the modern boxing era,” Olivieri said.
Later, the WBO President posted a short message on social media:
“All the best to Usyk! Viva Ukraine!”
Recall that the new WBO heavyweight world champion is Fabio Wardley.
