The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has officially ordered its junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora (22-1-1, 14 KOs) to make a mandatory title defense against rising Puerto Rican star Xander Zayas (21-0, 13 KOs).
The camps have been given 20 days to reach an agreement—otherwise, the WBO will call for a purse bid.
Fundora also holds the WBC title, for which Ukrainian puncher Serhii Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KOs) is the mandatory challenger.
On March 22, Fundora made his first title defense, stopping Chérdale Booker via fourth-round TKO. After the fight, Fundora stated he was ready to face Zayas.
