“This Isn’t Just Theory”: Usyk’s Camp on How They Dissected Dubois

Ready to Fight executive director Kyrylo Korobka has lifted the lid on how WBA, WBC, WBO and IBO Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KO) is preparing for his return bout with IBF title-holder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KO).

Korobka noted that the team’s analysts scrutinise every second of an opponent’s fights—right down to punch tempo, sequencing and defensive lapses. Those numbers underpin the tactical plan that the champion understands and fully trusts.

We have more than ten people in the analytics department and over eighty across the whole company. What we do isn’t just for pro teams like ours—it’s for fans too.

We study every fight, the latest bouts of Daniel Dubois. We analyse every mistake—Usyk’s side, Dubois’s side—and we review the first fight as well.

Our judges, coaches, fighters and scientists crunch the data, then build the right game-plan for the next bout.

This isn’t theory—it’s numbers: movement patterns, punch sequences, gaps in defence, tempo. Everything is gathered, compared and passed to a boxer who can read it.

Usyk likes it. He trusts the data, knowing it’s prepared by professionals—his own team. That’s crucial. He knows every one of them,” said Korobka.

Korobka previously explained how the Ready to Fight app streamlines the search for Usyk’s sparring partners.

Usyk and Dubois meet for the undisputed heavyweight crown on 19 July at Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom.
