From Weeks to a Couple of Clicks: How Usyk’s Team Finds Sparring Partners

Ready to Fight executive director Kyrylo Korobka has detailed how the app streamlined the hunt for sparring partners for WBA, WBC, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk ahead of his clash with IBF belt-holder Daniel Dubois.

It’s not just an app—it’s a whole ecosystem. Need sparring? You find sparring. Need a coach, a psychologist, whatever? We use it all.

In the past, Serhii Lapin (Usyk’s team manager) could spend weeks tracking down the right partners. Now it’s two clicks. We see a profile, weight, style, experience, and talk to them directly. For Dubois we needed someone tall, strong, explosive, and the app flew guys in from all over the world.

It’s simple: every sparring partner creates a profile, uploads their info plus sparring footage and fight clips. Then they answer a listing—‘Oleksandr Usyk needs sparring.’ They apply, Serhii reviews it, and if it fits the criteria, the fighter is invited to camp,” said Korobka.

The bout between Usyk and Dubois for the undisputed heavyweight crown is set for 19 July at Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom.
