Alexander Krassyuk on Usyk’s Future: "He’s Not Ready to Retire Yet"

Alexander Krassyuk, promoter of undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), shared insights on his fighter’s future.

"First of all, he’s not ready to retire. Secondly, we don’t know what’s coming next. The outcome of the Parker vs. Dubois fight will have a big influence. Thirdly, we’ve heard from the media that Wladimir Klitschko is considering making history by becoming the oldest heavyweight world champion, surpassing the legendary George Foreman. However, no official decision has been made—this is still just an idea, maybe a dream or a plan. We heard about it from His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, so this scenario is possible, too.

As you can see, there are multiple possibilities, and everything depends on who wins the fights we just mentioned. Personally, I favor Parker. That’s not meant as disrespect to Daniel [Dubois]; it’s just my subjective opinion. I can’t predict the future, but I have a feeling Parker has a better chance of winning. That’s why the result of this fight will be decisive.

I don’t see any reason for Oleksandr to fight anyone else in the division unless it’s for the undisputed title. His only motivation is to become a three-time undisputed champion. Maybe that will help get things moving."

The IBF heavyweight title bout between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker is set to take place on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Recently, reports surfaced that Wladimir Klitschko is seriously considering a return to the ring.
