The Ring: Wladimir Klitschko Seriously Considering a Comeback

Former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko is seriously contemplating a return to the ring, The Ring reports.

According to the outlet, Klitschko could take part in a major fight in 2025, though his potential opponent remains unknown.

In December last year, Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, revealed that he dreams of seeing Klitschko back in the ring, attempting to become the oldest heavyweight champion in boxing history, breaking George Foreman’s record.

"Giving Klitschko this opportunity would be perfect. Of course, he won’t fight Usyk if Usyk beats Tyson Fury—both of them are heroes of Ukraine and would never fight each other. But this is a dream," Alalshikh explained.

Klitschko, who turns 49 on March 25, last fought in April 2017, when he suffered an 11th-round stoppage loss to then-undefeated Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.
