In comments for Fox News, former undisputed world champion Mike Tyson announced that his fight against heavyweight blogger-boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) will not be recognized as a professional match but will be an exhibition.
The bout will follow general boxing rules, but the result will not count towards the athletes' records.
Previously, there were reports that Mike and Jake would box under modified rules: with heavier gloves and 2-minute rounds. However, Tyson has debunked this.
The showdown between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is scheduled for July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will be streamed on Netflix.
