According to insider Mike Coppinger, Turki Alalshikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, is no longer interested in a fight between WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) and four-division champion Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs).
Turki sees the next opponent for "Bud" as WBA super welterweight champion (up to 69.9 kg) Vergil Ortiz (21-0, 21 KOs).
"Turki is no longer interested in the Canelo vs. Crawford fight. He stated that on Saturday he will consider the Crawford vs. Ortiz fight if there's no bout with Canelo. On Saturday, Ortiz will fight Serhii Bohachuk," noted Coppinger.
In the early hours of August 4, Terence Crawford won a unanimous decision over Israil Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOs).
On August 8 in Las Vegas, USA, Vergil Ortiz will fight Ukrainian Serhii Bohachuk (24-1, 23 KOs).
