Crawford Defeats Madrimov and Conquers Fourth Weight Class

In the early hours of August 4 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, USA, a boxing event took place with the main event featuring Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) making his debut in the junior middleweight division (up to 69.9 kg) against Israil Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOs). The WBA championship title, held by Madrimov, and the interim WBO junior middleweight title were at stake.

Terence Crawford is now the unified junior middleweight champion. He aims to become the undisputed champion in this division, which would be his third in his career.

Currently, the champions are Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev. However, among the potential opponents for Terence, as mentioned by Turki Alalshikh, are Vergil Ortiz, who will fight against Serhii Bohachuk on August 10, and Saul Alvarez, to whom Turki has sent a proposal.

Madrimov wants a rematch to prove he is better than Crawford in this division. However, the organization of this fight will largely depend on whether Terence has more high-profile matchups in the near future.
