The Ring to Host Boxing Events in New York and on Alcatraz Island

Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has announced a historic boxing event set for March 2026 on Alcatraz Island—the former maximum-security prison located in San Francisco Bay, USA.

Before that, The Ring will stage its first open-air tournament in Times Square, featuring the following matchups:

– Ryan Garcia vs. Rolando Romero

– Devin Haney vs. Jose Ramirez

– Teofimo Lopez vs. Arnold Barboza

Additionally, Alalshikh confirmed another The Ring event on July 12 in New York City at an iconic yet undisclosed location, with the fight card still in development.

Alcatraz Island, also known as "The Rock," is one of the most infamous prisons in U.S. history. Once home to some of America's most dangerous criminals, escaping was considered impossible due to the frigid waters and strong currents surrounding the island. The prison was shut down in 1963 and later converted into a national park and museum in 1973.

Earlier, Alalshikh expressed interest in hosting boxing events at legendary historical locations, and now that vision is becoming a reality.
