Is a Fight Between Tank and Shakur Inevitable?

Todd duBoef, the president of Top Rank, commented on the potential bout between WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) and WBC title-holder Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs).

"Is a fight between Tank and Shakur inevitable? I hope so. I think this fight makes sense. In my opinion, the weight classes from 130 to 140 pounds (super featherweight, lightweight, and super lightweight) are exciting. There's a lot of movement. I think they all border closely and can move—lose 3-5 pounds to move down or gain 3-5 pounds to move up. So, I think there's a lot of interesting matchups that can be made. But we must meet everyone's expectations," said duBoef.

Gervonta Davis's next fight is scheduled against Frank Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) on June 15 in Las Vegas, USA. Shakur Stevenson has not fought since November, when he won by unanimous decision against Edwin De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs). Recently, Floyd Mayweather released a video showing Shakur calling out Gervonta for a fight.
