Shakur Reveals When Fight with Roach Could Happen

WBC Lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has said that a fight against WBA Super Featherweight champion Lamont Roach could take place in early 2026.

Lamont was preparing for the rematch, so he’ll take an interim fight and then face me early in the year. But that’s only if Teo (Teofimo Lopez) agrees to the fight,” Shakur wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Stevenson and Roach had already agreed to fight.

On July 12, Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) successfully defended his title against interim WBC Lightweight champion William Zepeda, winning by unanimous decision.

In March, Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs) fought to a draw with WBA Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. A rematch was scheduled for August, but Roach himself confirmed it would likely not happen due to a lack of clarity from Davis’ team. Soon after, it was revealed that Davis would instead fight Jake Paul.
