Ryan: "I Had a Vision"

American boxer Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs), following his victory over WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs), shared that he had a vision. In it, he was boxing against the WBC and WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs).

"I had a vision where I was fighting Fundora at junior middleweight. I don't know why. I just feel like I can knock him out. It's very random, but I feel that I could win the title at junior middleweight. I've fought bigger guys before and knocked them out in sparrings, put them to sleep. But respect to Fundora, I say this with no disrespect," Garcia stated.

Currently, Ryan does not hold a title and has not settled on a weight category. He is preliminarily planning to move up to welterweight—up to 147 lbs (66.68 kg). This comes after fighting at a catchweight against both Oscar Duarte and Devin Haney, where Garcia weighed more than the super lightweight limit but less than the minimum welterweight limit.

Following his victory over Haney, Garcia stated that he plans to move to a heavier category.

Fundora also has a preliminary next opponent—he is set to have a rematch against Tim Tszyu, whom he defeated in their last match. The rematch is expected to take place towards the end of 2024.
