Former world champion and boxing analyst Paul Malignaggi said what it would take for influencer-boxer Jake Paul to beat former Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
– Let’s say we wake up on December 20 and Jake Paul’s hand has been raised as the winner — how could he possibly do that?
– Jake Paul? With a gun. With a gun. Honestly, I can’t think of anything else. The only thing stopping me from betting everything I own on Anthony Joshua is that this fight is so absurd that I feel like I’m missing something. It feels like there’s some kind of catch here, and in the end the joke will be on me. Because I’m genuinely ready to bet everything I have — my bank account, investments, houses — all of it on Joshua. And specifically on a knockout win. But it looks too obvious, too good to be true. Like there has to be some trick. I don’t know. Still, I’ve known AJ for a long time. He’s a serious guy. He’s not the type who would allow himself to be turned into a laughingstock. And the very fact he fought Ngannou is further proof of that. Everybody talked, and he just went out there and wiped the guy out, said Malignaggi.
Paul (12-1, 7 KO) vs Joshua (28-4, 25 KO) will take place on December 19 in Miami, USA. The eight-round Heavyweight clash will be streamed on Netflix.
