Parker Seeks Rematch Against the Brit

David Higgins, promoter of the interim WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs), has revealed that his client is eager for a rematch against the Brit, Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs).

"The contract is set for a rematch with Zhilei Zhang, but the situation can change if all parties agree. If a better option is presented to us, we will consider it, but negotiations must take place. Joseph has given me clear instructions. They involve him wanting to fight the best fighters in the world. He wants bouts with opponents who are ranked higher than him. That's his stance. He wants to fight Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk, but right now, he needs to be patient and try to seize any opportunities so as not to miss out," said Higgins.

Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled to fight Tyson Fury on May 18. Among the contenders for the belts, which also include Parker, is the IBF contender Filip Hrgovic. The Croatian is likely to meet Daniel Dubois in the summer. Alternatively, he could replace one of the participants in the Usyk-Fury fight in case of a force majeure.

Anthony Joshua currently has no opponent. He first faced Parker in 2018, where the Brit won by judges' decision.
