43-year-old former champion Orlando Salido has been involved in a fatal accident, insider Michael Benson reports.
The Mexican boxer is in police custody at a hospital after crashing his truck into a house in Sonora, Mexico, on Friday morning.
The incident resulted in the death of a man and injury of a woman. Salido himself is in critical condition.
Orlando Salido retired in 2017 and was a world champion in two weight classes. The Mexican boxer’s career record stands at 44 wins (31 by knockout), 14 losses, and 4 draws. Throughout his professional career, Salido defeated Juan Manuel Lopez, fought against Robert Guerrero, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Mikey Garcia, and was the first to defeat Vasyl Lomachenko. After retiring from professional boxing, Orlando entered local politics.
