Netflix Aggressively Targeting Two Mega-Fights: Crawford & Fury on the List

Sports Illustrated journalist Chris Mannix has revealed that streaming platform Netflix is planning to expand its boxing coverage following its successful debut with the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event.

According to Mannix, Netflix is "aggressively targeting" the broadcast rights for two potential mega-fights—should they materialize: Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford, Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua. Both matchups are still purely theoretical at this stage. Alvarez is currently set to fight William Scull, while Fury has publicly claimed he is retiring.

Netflix's first-ever boxing broadcast took place in fall 2024, featuring: Jake Paul UD 8 Mike Tyson, Katie Taylor UD 10 Amanda Serrano, Mario Barrios DRAW Abel Ramos (WBC welterweight title fight). The event reportedly reached 60 million devices, with viewership peaking at 65 million.

The next confirmed boxing event on Netflix will be the trilogy fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, with the final chapter of their rivalry now officially scheduled.
