The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has offered Mexican Jaime Munguia to fight against Osleys Iglesias for the organization's vacant Super Middleweight title, which became vacant after Terence Crawford announced his retirement.
Both sides will have three days to accept this offer. In the event of agreement from both boxers, a negotiation period will be appointed.
Munguia became the next person contacted by the IBF after former undisputed world champion Saul Alvarez declined the offer — the Mexican replied that he is still recovering from elbow surgery performed in October and will not be ready in time for this fight.
In May, Jaime Munguia (45-2, 35 KOs) avenged his loss to Bruno Surace — a victory by unanimous decision. After the fight, it turned out that the Mexican failed a doping test, however, the boxer was subsequently exonerated. Previously, it became known that Munguia might return to the ring in April.
In September, Osleys Iglesias (14-0, 13 KOs) defeated Vladimir Shishkin by technical knockout in the 8th round.
