A heavyweight boxer from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Martin Bakole (21-1, 16 KOs), has addressed former world champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
Bakole has challenged the Briton and promised to knock him out in the very first round:
“Hey, Anthony Joshua, this video is for you. I’m calling you out. I want to knock you out. And now you’re saying Ajagba will beat me? Shame on you! How many times have I called you out? How many times have I offered you a fight in Africa? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? I want to fight you, I want to knock you out.
Look at Daniel Dubois—I broke his nose twice, and he still knocked you out cold. What will happen when you face me? I’m going to knock you out in the first round. You’re talking about Ajagba? Ajagba is a kid. You’ll see how I knock him out, and I’ll invite you to watch it.
You’re talking all kinds of trash. I want to fight you. Stop talking nonsense. Now you’re saying you’re Nigerian, not British? I’ll knock you out. I’m the African giant. I’m the African warrior. I’m going to knock you out. After I knock out Ajagba, I’ll knock you out too!” Bakole declared.
In September, Anthony Joshua was knocked out in the 5th round by IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.
In August, Martin Bakole stopped American prospect Jared Anderson in the 5th round. The most likely next opponent for Bakole is Efe Ajagba, with the winner of that clash set to contend for the IBF title.
