Lou DiBella: "In Five Years, Promoters and Organizations Won’t Be the Same"

Renowned American promoter Lou DiBella has shared his thoughts on the recent agreement between Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chief, Turki Alalshikh, and TKO Group Holdings to create a new boxing promotion, which will be led by UFC President Dana White.

DiBella believes this project could completely shift the power structure in boxing, potentially displacing traditional promoters and sanctioning bodies.

"They [other promoters] used to call me a middleman. Well, guess what, morons? That’s exactly what you are now. I don’t believe that, in the long run, Dana, Nick Khan, or Turki have any intention of coexisting with other promoters.

I think these guys want to build their own system, and if it proves successful enough, they will naturally become the dominant force. None of the four major promotional companies currently tied to DAZN will hold the same status five years from now. Not a single sanctioning body will remain as it is today in five years," DiBella stated.
