Janibek on the Failed Doping Test: “I always support clean sport”

According to sources cited by The Ring, Kazakhstan’s WBO and IBF Middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly returned positive results for performance-enhancing drugs. The boxer responded to the reported test findings.
“I always support clean sport. You’d better know that.
You also know that I promote clean sport. I’m surprised to be reading the news. VADA analyzed it the first time and said everything was clear. I didn’t change my vitamins or my diet. I don’t understand why it happened on the second test — we asked for a review.
We’re waiting for answers!” Janibek wrote.
Alimkhanuly’s next fight was scheduled for December 6 in the United States. It was supposed to be a unification bout against WBA champion Erislandy Lara.
Whether the fight will go ahead remains unclear.
