BoxingScene reports that IBF interim welterweight champion (up to 66.67 kg) Jaron Ennis (31-0, 28 KOs) is required to face his mandatory challenger Cody Crowley (22-0, 9 KOs).
The parties have until March 1 to agree on fight terms, or the bout organizer will be determined through a promotional bid.
Analyst Chris Mannix suggests that the Ennis vs. Crowley fight is scheduled for May 4 and will take place on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs).
Ennis last fought in August of the previous year against Roiman Villa (26-2, 24 KOs) and won by unanimous decision. Crowley, on the other hand, won by decision against Abel Ramos (27-6-2, 21 KOs) in March 2023.
