Eddie Hearn, head of Matchroom Boxing, has commented on the statement from undisputed Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk, who recently said he plans to keep fighting until the age of 41.
“He beat Dubois. Right now, he’s at his peak. If he’s happy, in shape, and wants to keep going — why not? The only question is motivation. Will he fight Joseph Parker? Or Moses Itauma? If so — good luck to him. As long as he’s at his peak, I don’t think anyone can beat him.
Maybe the winner of Joshua vs. Fury could face Usyk — I don’t know. But you can’t compare the level of public interest in Joshua–Fury with any matchup involving Usyk,” said Hearn.
In July, Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round to reclaim his undisputed Heavyweight crown.
