Three-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk has revealed when he expects to return to the ring.
– I arrived yesterday morning — I was at a training camp, – Usyk said.
– Are you training to prepare for a fight? When?
– Next year. And, God willing, I’ll win.
– Against whom?
– I’d like to make something up for you right now…
– Itauma?
– No, I won’t fight Itauma. He’s young — always teasing me. And he said himself he doesn’t hit grandpas. I can’t say who exactly, because negotiations are ongoing. I’d be lying if I gave you a name.
– So, you’ll continue your career for at least another year?
– I’ll fight until I’m 41. Then I’ll build a sports academy — I’ll train there and train others, – Usyk added.
In 2025, Usyk fought once — knocking out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their rematch. Later, Joseph Parker was considered as his next opponent, but the Ukrainian suffered a back injury and has been recovering since.
