Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn has shared his thoughts on the potential rematch between his fighter Conor Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) and IBO middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 KOs).
“For me, the danger in that fight wasn’t for Chris Eubank Jr. It was for Conor Benn. That’s why we have to think carefully about a rematch, because I don’t want to see Benn in too many fights of that magnitude. Fights like that shorten careers, and Conor still has a long road ahead.
The terms for the rematch are already agreed, and they are the same as for the first fight. Yes, I believe Eubank Jr. should come down a little in weight, rather than Benn having to move up two divisions,” said Hearn.
As a reminder, on April 26, Chris Eubank Jr. defeated Conor Benn by unanimous decision. Full fight statistics are available via the link.
