Hearn Does Not Rule Out Postponement of Garcia vs. Haney Fight

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, promoter and head of Matchroom Boxing Eddie Hearn assessed the possibility of postponing the match between American lightweight boxer (63.5 kg) Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) and WBC champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs).

"His team, Oscar De La Hoya, Golden Boy, Bernard Hopkins, they're former boxers, and they care about their fighters. I'm sure they, along with Ryan Garcia's family, will make the right decision. To step into the ring, he needs to be 100% ready, and if he's not 100%, he shouldn't fight.

The fight can be postponed, he can get the help he needs and be okay. Five weeks left? That's not a very long period of time. So, leave it to the people who know him and care about him, and hopefully, they will make the right decision for the guy.

Am I working on a backup plan for Haney? Not right now," said Hearn.

Oscar De La Hoya previously commented on the possibility of postponing the fight.

The fight between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney is scheduled for April 20th in New York, USA.
