Ukrainian light heavyweight (up to 79,4 kg) boxer Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) commented on his upcoming match against "interim" WBC super middleweight (up to 76,2 kg) champion David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs). The former champion confirmed that the event would take place on June 22nd in Houston, USA.
"The fight hasn't even been announced because everyone already knows about it from insider sources. I don't know what they are doing, maybe they don't want it to happen before they announce another fight or something similar. As far as I've seen, PBC hasn't advertised any show, but I don't know, I'm just guessing.
They gave me a date, which I've mentioned before, June 21st, which is in my contract, but the fight has been moved to Houston. It's all legal, the fight is now set for Houston on June 22nd," said Gvozdyk.
David Benavidez and Oleksandr Gvozdyk will meet this summer for the WBC "interim" light heavyweight title. This will be David's debut in a new weight class. The likely date previously mentioned was June 15th.
