Ukrainian light heavyweight (up to 79,4 kg) boxer Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) reacted to an interview given by "interim" WBC super middleweight (up to 76,2 kg) champion David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs), which he conducted in an inebriated state for DAZN.
"I expect his best version. Yes, we saw him drunk on TV, but the fight is still more than two months away, he probably hasn't even started his camp yet. If he has time to have fun and relax, why not? Sometimes people drink; it's not prohibited. It's up to him, but maybe his fans don't want to see him like that.
I don't care. If he continues to drink and doesn't train, that's perfect. It will be easier for me," said Gvozdyk.
David Benavidez and Oleksandr Gvozdyk will meet this summer for the WBC "interim" light heavyweight title. This will be David's debut in the new weight class. According to Oleksandr, the show will take place on June 22 in Houston, USA.
