Fury: "I Don't Like Violence"

WBC heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) admitted to Rio Ferdinand what he dreamed of becoming as a child and what motivated him to persevere.

"I didn't always fight. I don't like violence. I still don't like it. But boxing is an art. You know what I mean. I always wanted to be a heavyweight champion.

Some kids want to be policemen, firefighters, astronauts. I dreamed of being a heavyweight champion since childhood, always believed in it. Even when everyone said I couldn't do it: 'He's just a big fat white guy. Let him behave, he's not Muhammad Ali or Tyson. He's a fat guy from Manchester. You can't do it. You're too tall, clumsy, lack the punch and chin. You're fat.'

All this negativity was like pouring gasoline on an open fire. It fueled me," Fury said.

Tyson Fury's next fight will be against WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). The fight will have the first undisputed heavyweight title on the line since 1999.
