Fundora Reveals When He Was Ready to Face Spence

WBC and WBO super welterweight champion Sebastián Fundora has spoken about the failed matchup against Errol Spence, claiming the fight didn’t happen due to Spence’s camp.

"Things are always changing—opponents change, fights get canceled. With Booker, we’ve been training hard for my first title defense.

I was ready to fight Spence last year, but they kept changing the dates. I don’t know what happened with Errol—I can’t speak for him. But we were ready for the fight, and the dates kept shifting for some reason.

I’ve been training since May, getting ready for whatever came next. It didn’t happen, but here we are now. I’m ready. I just have to do what I always do—win and put on a good performance.

The big fights against Spence and Crawford are always open, and I’d love to fight either of them. This division is stacked with talent, and you’ll see that on March 22 in my fight. I’m also looking forward to whoever comes next," said Fundora.

Fundora’s next fight will be against Chordale Booker on March 23 in the USA. Full fight stats and analysis available here.
