Despite having the size advantage, it is Fundora in this matchup who plays the role of the aggressor, pushing forward relentlessly. Serhii Bohachuk, who has sparred with Sebastian multiple times, has noted that his pressure is a major challenge and an unexpected factor. Typically, when facing such a tall and long-limbed opponent, one expects them to fight from a distance, but Fundora defies that expectation.
Booker, on the other hand, prefers to counterpunch. At times, he switches to applying steady pressure to provoke his opponent into making mistakes. However, his general approach remains reactive, working off his adversary’s movements.
Fundora is 27, while Booker is 33—both are at a prime age for high-stakes fights. They are neither too young nor approaching the twilight of their careers.
However, Sebastian is arguably the first truly serious opponent for Chordale. At the same time, Fundora has already experienced a brutal knockout (in his fight against Mendoza) and made a comeback in a bout where few gave him a chance. In that very fight, he also managed to defeat Tszyu and claim a championship title.
Fundora is by far the more active puncher in this pairing, averaging over 600 punches per fight compared to Booker's approximately 200.
Sebastian applies constant pressure and throws punches in high volume. He strikes from unexpected angles and overwhelms his opponents with both power and sheer output.
Booker, in contrast, is known for his accuracy. He lands around 40% of his punches, benefiting from his patient counterpunching style. This high accuracy applies to both regular and power punches.
Fundora fought only once in 2024, winning a championship but not returning to the ring afterward due to a broken nose sustained in that fight. He first had to recover, then spent time negotiating a mega-fight. As a result, he has been inactive for almost a year.
Booker, meanwhile, fought twice last year, winning one fight by decision and the other by stoppage. However, he has only completed a total of 13 rounds—10 in the first fight and almost 3 in the second—just one round more than Fundora.
Booker’s 47.83% knockout ratio may not seem impressive, but he can certainly punch. Fighting out of a southpaw stance, Chordale effectively uses his lead hook, which can be nearly invisible to an orthodox fighter if set up correctly. However, calling him a knockout artist would be a stretch.
Fundora, on the other hand, hits hard. His 61.9% knockout ratio only tells part of the story. He throws a high volume of heavy punches, constantly applying pressure. While he isn't a one-punch knockout artist, enduring his power punches over multiple rounds from various angles is extremely challenging.
Both hold their punches well. However, Fundora suffered the main knockout of the year in 2023. Then he was caught by Brian Mendoza, whose punch is much harder than Booker's hit. Chordale also lost early, but also at the start of the meeting - in a fight against Ammo Williams. So the risk of a knockout will haunt both fighters throughout the fight.
Both fighters will be stepping into the ring at Michelob Ultra Arena for the first time. However, this will be Fundora’s sixth fight in Las Vegas, while it will be Booker's debut in the city.
Expecting any significant judging bias in favor of the champion may be unrealistic, but experience fighting in one of boxing’s biggest cities is an important factor.
Booker is essentially a late replacement. The fight between Fundora and Errol Spence was never officially announced, but Sebastian had been preparing for a different opponent. This is another reason why Booker isn’t being taken seriously, making his potential victory less of a shocking upset and more of a surprising turn for many fans.
Fundora, on the other hand, understands that this fight stands between him and the biggest money fights of his career. He’s in high demand, with many top fighters wanting to challenge him, and the division is packed with major matchups. Losing to Booker is simply not an option.
Moreover, stylistically, Chordale should be a convenient opponent for Fundora. If Sebastian doesn’t make the same mistakes he did against Mendoza, he is the clear favorite to win.
