Sebastian Fundora's (21-1-1, 13 KOs) promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, has indicated that due to a nose injury, fans shouldn't expect to see his client back in the ring until fall. Furthermore, a rematch against Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs) remains a priority.
"I would be happy with a rematch against Tszyu; he deserves it. I don’t know if Fundora needs surgery on his nose, but it's likely he won't have any fights until November.
Crawford? He wants to fight Canelo for the money, for the purse, and I don’t know if he would get that in a fight with Fundora. As far as I understand, he wants to be a co-promoter because he's a free agent, but that's not going to happen.
My wish is for a rematch with Tszyu, because people will ask for it. Many will say that if it weren't for the cut, Fundora would have lost the fight, but I don't believe that," Lewkowicz stated.
Fundora defeated Tszyu to become the WBO and WBC super welterweight champion (up to 69.85 kg). Subsequently, the WBO ordered his team to start negotiations for a fight with Terence Crawford. However, due to Fundora's injury, the American may face a different opponent. The main candidate is the Brit, Kell.
