Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier has identified Deontay Wilder as the most dangerous opponent for Francis Ngannou if they meet in a boxing match.
"I believe the most dangerous opponent for Francis is Wilder.
I was on the same Olympic team as him. He’s not very technical—that phrase perfectly describes Deontay’s style. But that’s exactly what makes him dangerous. His punches come from awkward angles, and his knockout power is unreal. He can put anyone to sleep.
Some people seriously thought Ngannou could beat Joshua. I like Francis, and I don’t want to disrespect him, but in that fight, Joshua never felt threatened because Francis simply lacked boxing experience. So why does he want to fight Wilder? Maybe for the money. Or maybe he still wants to prove he’s the best fighter on the planet. After his fight with Fury, that’s what everyone thought.
But let’s not forget that when Ngannou returned to MMA, that’s where he looked truly dominant," said Cormier.
Earlier, Ngannou discussed his potential opponents, mentioning both Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder as possible options.
