According to insider Michael Benson, citing IFL TV, IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) may vacate his title.
Reports indicate that Ennis's promoter, Eddie Hearn, has been in contact with Serhii Bohachuk and is considering a fight between Ennis and Israil Madrimov, following unsuccessful negotiations for a unification bout with WBO champion Brian Norman. Bohachuk and Madrimov are fighters in the super welterweight division (up to 69.85 kg).
It is worth noting that the mandatory challenger for Ennis is Ready to Fight ambassador, Ukrainian boxer Karen Chukhadzhian. The two have already faced each other, with Jaron winning by decision. However, Hearn has stated that he sees no point in a rematch.
Previously, it was reported that Terence Crawford vacated the last title he held in the welterweight division.
