Two-time undisputed world champion Terence Crawford has officially vacated yet another title, relinquishing the WBA welterweight title (up to 66.68 kg). In August, Terence defeated Israil Madrimov to claim the WBA title in the super welterweight division (up to 69.85 kg), leading to the decision on where he would continue his career. Crawford has chosen to move up to the super welterweight division.
Earlier, Crawford lost the IBF title after the Federation disapproved of the rematch clause in his contract with Errol Spence. Subsequently, Terence announced that he was vacating the WBC and WBO belts, effectively closing the chapter on his welterweight career and firmly establishing himself as a super welterweight.
The only remaining WBA welterweight champion is Eimantas Stanionis, who is expected to be elevated to super champion, a title previously held by Crawford.
Terence Crawford is likely to face Sebastián Fundora next, as the WBO has mandated negotiations between the two. The bout could see the WBA, WBO, and WBC super welterweight titles on the line.
