Jaron Ennis: "Crawford vs. Canelo Could Be Slower or Even Faster"

IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis shared his thoughts on the potential showdown between WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight (76.2 kg) champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) and WBA junior middleweight (69.85 kg) champion Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs).

"It’s a good fight. A true 50-50 matchup. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a bit challenging for Crawford. He’ll have to put on an extra 6 kilograms, so he might slow down a little. Then again, who knows? He might even get faster. We’ll see on fight night how he handles it," Ennis said in an interview with YSM Sports Media.

The rumored date for the Canelo vs. Crawford fight is September 13.

In September, Canelo defended his titles by unanimous decision against Edgar Berlanga. In August, Terence Crawford moved up in weight and defeated Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision, claiming the WBA title.
