Journalist Jake Donovan has revealed more details regarding the purse bid for the rematch between American IBF champion Jaron Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) and Ukrainian contender Karen Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KOs).
"Interesting dynamics in the Ennis-Chukhadzhian purse bid.
According to a ruling obtained by The Ring, Matchroom initially sought a 90/10 split in favor of Ennis, instead of the traditional IBF distribution of 65/35.
Chukhadzhian’s team opposed this, and the IBF ruled to maintain the traditional split," Donovan reported.
As a reminder, P2M Box Promotions recently won the purse bid for the Ennis-Chukhadzhian fight. In their first encounter, Ennis claimed a unanimous decision victory over Chukhadzhian.
