"It's Just Disgraceful" – Eddie Hearn Outraged by Cacace’s Decision to Vacate IBF Title

The head of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, has sharply criticized Irish boxer Anthony Cacace (23-1, 8 KOs) for relinquishing his IBF super featherweight title.

"This is just disgraceful. In reality, it was obvious three months ago that he was going to vacate the belt. I’m really angry because his team has been toying with Eduardo Nuñez.

I like Anthony as a fighter, but his approach to Nuñez is disappointing. He defeated former champion Joe Cordina but never defended his title.

If your lifelong dream has been to become a world champion, you should at least try to defend your belt. I can confidently say that the only reason he vacated the title is fear of Eduardo Nuñez," Hearn stated.
