The founder of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, criticized WBC lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) following his bout against Artem Harutyunyan (12-2, 7 KOs).
"Fights for the fans are what William Zepeda delivers, unlike some fighters," wrote Oscar.
On the night of July 7th, Shakur Stevenson won a unanimous decision against Artem Harutyunyan, while William Zepeda knocked out Giovanni Cabrera (22-2, 7 KOs) in the 3rd round. Shakur's fight took place in his hometown of Newark, USA, but some fans left the show before the bout concluded.
Previously, De La Hoya joked that Zepeda would land more punches in the first round than Stevenson in the entire fight.
